VR Systems provides elections management software, hardware, services and solutions to 62 Florida Supervisors of Elections and the State of Florida through its three products.

Voter Focus is a suite of programs that tracks and manages voter registration, voter lists and voter eligibility for absentee voting, early voting and election day voting. It gives the supervisors of elections the ability to provide information services to voters, the candidates and the press. Election management tools consist of poll worker management, phone bank, call tracking and poll book precinct register production.

The EViD electronic poll book system is used by poll workers to check in voters during early voting and on election day. Voting activity is recorded and conveyed to the election main office at near real-time speed. The EViDs are continuously updated during the voting period with voter registration changes and voting activity.

Web Focus is website management software for supervisors and elections staff to maintain an up-to-the minute website. Information pages for the public can be created and easily updated.

VR Systems’ expert staff creates software and provides technical training and support to the Florida elections community.

38% of voters check-in
on EViDs
in 2010 Primary

EViD stations checked in more than 486,421 voters (38% of the total turnout) during early voting and on election day. In Florida, 38 counties used the electronic pollbooks from VR Systems to speed up the eligibility-verification process.

EViD

As voters signed in on electronic signature pads, their check-ins were transmitted to Supervisors’ offices where elections officials offered near real-time Get Out the Vote reports to candidates and political parties. During early voting, 28 counties connected EViDs to ballot-on-demand printers to quickly produce the correct ballot for each voter.

For counties using EViDs—as opposed to those using paper registers—voting history is already posted. As post-election work continues, elections officials will reconcile voting history totals from EViDs with precinct totals to ensure all voters receive an accurate update to their voting history.
